The video suggests that a week of GHK-Cu application or use can produce observable skin improvements. This aligns with a broader social media trend where users share rapid “before and after” results. However, such clips rarely specify dosage, formulation, or whether the change is due to GHK-Cu alone or other factors like hydration, lighting, or concurrent skincare.
What the research neighborhood actually covers
GHK-Cu (copper tripeptide-1) has been investigated for its role in wound healing, collagen synthesis, and antioxidant activity. In vitro and animal studies show that GHK-Cu can stimulate fibroblast activity and promote extracellular matrix remodeling. Yet, human clinical evidence for cosmetic skin improvement is limited and typically spans weeks to months, not days. A 2015 review noted that copper peptides may improve skin elasticity and firmness, but effects are gradual and depend on concentration and delivery system. No peer-reviewed study supports a 1-week visible transformation.
Limits of the evidence
Short-term self-experiments are anecdotal and confounded by placebo effects, skin hydration, and other variables.
