It’s possible you’ve seen the brand’s commercials on TV, known for a hair care line that includes color and styling products. Schwarzkopf is owned by Henkel, whose site says their consumer brands—ranging from Dial soaps to laundry brands All and Purex—focus on laundry, hygiene, and hair care.
Tuesday, the company issued a voluntary recall on a Schwarzkopf styling product—namely, Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip, a mousse product that the company says adds fullness and hold, as well as heat protection and shine.
Reports of injuries
The company says the recall on 6.76-ounce cans (200 milliliter) is “due to a potential packaging issue in which product could leak from the package under pressure, which creates a risk of explosion.” They add: “Henkel learned about this situation through one customer complaint and two salon reports. Bruising on the hand was reported by the customer and no other injuries were identified.”
Affected product details
Reportedly “sold to hair professionals and consumers at the retail level,” the mousse was distributed to the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington.
